Covenant
To walk with us is to enter a space of radical authenticity. By joining the movement, we commit to the following principles:
1. The Pillar of Truth
We speak only truth, regardless of how uncomfortable or raw it may feel. We do not lie to our brothers, and more importantly, we do not lie to ourselves. The mask stays at the trailhead.
2. The Sacred Space
Zero Judgment: This is a sanctuary. We observe each other’s journeys without critique or comparison.
The Power of Presence: Community is the medicine. We do not offer unsolicited advice; we offer our ears, our hearts, and our shared stride. We are here to witness, not to "fix."
The Digital Fast: Mobile phones are for emergency use only. To find ourselves, we must first disconnect from the grid.
3. Radical Equality
There is no hierarchy on the trail. Wealth, titles, and social status are stripped away. We meet as men—equal in our humanity and our pursuit of inner peace through truth.
4. Conduct & Safety
The Spirit of Peace: Aggression, bullying, or manipulative behaviours is a violation of the brotherhood and will result in immediate removal.
Crisis Awareness: The mountainside is not a clinical environment. If you are currently in an acute mental health crisis or are psychologically unstable, this group is not a substitute for professional medical care. We walk for wellness, not as a replacement for emergency intervention.
The Four Virtues: Every action within this group is filtered through Love, Respect, Honour, and Truth.
5. Physical Sovereignty
Self-Reliance: You are responsible for your own nourishment, hydration, and gear. You must be physically capable of walking for several hours while carrying your own provisions. However, all walks will have ability groups to allow all brothers to take part.
Medical Disclosure: While a member of the Unbound Crew carries basic first aid, you are responsible for your own specific medications. All pre-existing medical conditions must be disclosed to Mark prior to departure.
6. The Gift of Silence
We honour designated periods of silence. These are not voids to be filled with chatter, but opportunities to connect with the Earth and the stillness within. We ask all brothers to refrain from conversation during these windows.
7. Confidentiality (The Vault)
What is spoken on the trail stays on the trail. To encourage vulnerability, every man must know his "soul-baring" will not be repeated outside the group.
8. Leave No Trace
As we connect to the Earth, we honour her. We leave the path cleaner than we found it.
9. No Substance Use
To remain "Unbound" and fully present, the walks are strictly sober. No alcohol or recreational substances when on the trail.
10. The "Halt" Rule
Any man has the right to call for a "Halt"—whether he needs a physical breather or a moment to recentre. We move as a pack; no man is left behind.
